Tando Composites, a division of Derby Building Products, is officially launching the new Beach House Shake Rustic Collection to its distribution partners following a soft launch at several industry tradeshows earlier this year. Tando Composites, manufacturer of Beach House Shake® and TandoStone®, is known for creating new categories of composite shingles and composite stone. Featuring modern composite technology, these products deliver authentic looks with unprecedented durability.
Demand for the Rustic Collection’s iconic staggered edge shake has been strong in all markets. The original 5” re-squared and rebutted Beach House Shake product line will be known as the Classic Collection.
Beach House Shake Rustic Collection, just like the Classic collection, is an ideal replacement for natural individual cedar shingles. It features a staggered edge design, characterized by shingles of varying thicknesses and uneven edges. This iconic look dates back to the 1600s when craftsmen began using irregularly shaped shingles for speed and aesthetics.
“Demand for the authentic rustic look is very strong overall, especially with the siding installers,” said Ralph Bruno, CEO of Derby Building Products. “As the perfect replacement for natural wood shingles and engineered shingles, The Rustic Collection provides easy installation while looking like the day it was installed for the life of the home. Bruno continued, “This will be our largest product launch to date. We are thrilled to be delivering a product that is in such demand while supporting our channel partners.” Tando Composites’ marketing support for the launch includes collateral, display items, samples and inclusion in the Tando Home Visualizer and Hover, a popular remodeling software.
The Rustic Collection is available in four on-trend styles – Pacifica, a fresh western red cedar; Sandcastle, fresh white eastern cedar; and two new darker shades, Galveston Gray and Ballard Brown. While the new profile can be used in a whole-house application, it is also ideal in gable or accent area for a mixed material exterior, including with fiber cement siding.
