Springtime DIY Projects to Add Curb Appeal

RollerRock®

Warm weather beckons, and homeowners answer the call. Springtime means taking inventory of the home exterior and making changes. DIY projects upgrading the home’s curb appeal are both rewarding and a solid investment in your home.

“Curb appeal enhancements add true value to a property,” says Peter Daich, president of Daich Coatings. “Whether you’re getting ready to sell or staying in your home for many years, improved curb appeal makes a big statement to friends, neighbors and potential buyers.”

Before launching into do-it-yourself projects, remember to prep surfaces. For example, when working on a project with cracked concrete, a product like Rock Patch is an essential first step. Made with a tough polymer/stone formula, the pre-mixed compound comes out of the container ready to use as a filler, leveler and resurfacer. Once the product has dried, you’re ready to start a project.

Curb Appeal Project #1

Sidewalks and pathways get an upgraded look of tile or natural stone when applying SpreadStone Decorative Concrete Resurfacing Kit. A specialized applicator is included for achieving stunning decorative results, making it easy for anyone to apply.

The versatile pre-mixed SpreadStone real stone coating resists cracks, impact, abrasions and chemicals. The product rolls on easily over a primed seamless or stenciled surface. After the first coat dries, a second coat in a different color may be applied to create a unique color distinction. Available in five color finishes, including Lake Rock, Cold Gold Slate, Midnight Slate, Sun Ledge and Summit Grey.

SpreadRock® provides an elegantly authentic speckled granite coating ideal for porches. The coating can be spread on with an easy trowel application on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. The bonding technology and real stone composition ensure solid adhesion, superior flexibility and dependable durability.

A variety of color options include Mocha, Anvil and Ice Grey, along with Brownstone, Flint Grey, Sandstone and Sante Fe. Like other Daich Coatings products, SpreadRock resists rain, snow, salt, chemicals, mold, mildew, UV light and hot tire pickup, along with excessive heat and bitter cold temperatures.

Curb Appeal Project #3

Exterior steps and walkways benefit from easy-to-apply RollerRock®. Requiring no primer, the real stone coating comes in 15 colors and provides a clean, speckled stone appearance. A Stone Texture Roller helps any homeowner achieve a rustic, textured stone anti-slip surface. Two coats of RollerRock are recommended about three to four hours apart, followed by a clear sealer the next day, like TracSafe Anti-Slip Sealer.

“These DIY projects add beauty and value to any home,” says Daich. “For more than 20 years our company has offered real stone coating solutions. These are not concrete paints. Each product is made of a selected mix of stone in a specialized bonding polymer. This provides a durable, beautiful finish with proven long-term performance against extreme cold temperatures, soaring heat, UV rays and severe weather conditions.”
