Repair a Shower Head

Q: Our shower won’t spray water the way it used to. Can I repair this or do I have to replace the head?

A: For a quick fix, half fill a plastic bag with white vinegar. Cover the shower head with the bag of vinegar so the head is submerged. Tape the bag around the neck of the nozzle and leave it overnight. The vinegar should dissolve mineral buildup in the spray channels. Use a toothbrush to scrub away any remaining buildup. Note: Vinegar can harm certain finishes; check the shower head owner’s manual before using.
