17 New Cable Length Options for DITRA-HEAT
There are now double the number of cable lengths available for the Schluter-Systems DITRA-HEAT floor warming system. The DITRA-HEAT system is unique because the heating cables are easily snapped into place on top of the uncoupling mat with no clips or fasteners. The installer has complete flexibility on where the cables are placed so every installation is customized to suit the exact requirements of the owner.
The system launched just over one year ago with 17 different cable lengths to accommodate a wide range of project sizes. There are now 34 cable lengths to choose from: 17 for 120V circuits and 17 for 240V circuits. The additional cable lengths fill in gaps between the previous lengths so it is even easier to pick the right length of cable to suit the area to be warmed on any tiled floor.
The new lengths include cables that can be used in a space as small as 10.7 sq. ft. so the floor of a very small bathroom, powder room, or entryway can be easily warmed with the system.
DITRA-HEAT continues to perform the same four essential functions as the original DITRA uncoupling membrane for a lasting tile floor installation: uncoupling to prevent cracks in tiles and grout, waterproofing to protect areas beneath the tile from moisture, vapor management to provide a route for excess moisture to escape the substrate without damaging the tile, and support/load distribution to keep the tile covering intact with traffic. DITRA-HEAT is the only system that combines the uncoupling function to prevent tile cracking with the comfort of an electric floor warming system to bring a touch of luxury to any room in the home.
