Metabo 18 Volt Cordless Hammer Drill Makes the Grade

By: Hal Jones

In the world of tool testing, I subject tools to what obviously are tasks  outside of intended uses.  In order to simulate a longer period of use, I quite frankly abuse tools that are touted as commercial. I push them to the limit.  Sometimes they meet those expectations, sometimes they exceed them and occasionally they fail.  Metabo sent me one of its 18 volt hammer drills to test and use on our various projects. After one year, the Metabo SB18LTX has held up to tasks that broke many of its competitors.

We were looking for a drill that could handle 80 percent of our drilling tasks, with good battery life, friendly ergonomics and withstand tough work-site conditions.  Having a Metabo SB18 LTX  Cordless Hammer Drill and a Bosch Bulldog  for corded power would be a nice fit for a crew that handles light hammer drilling on a variety of jobs.

So if you are looking for a well made tool for the jobsite. Check out the Metabo SB18LTX.
