Installing an Energy Star-Approved Appliance

Q: Can I install an Energy Star-approved appliance myself and still qualify for the U.S. Federal tax credit?

However, while many of the energy tax credits allow the cost of installation/labor to be included in the eligible amount, if you install the product on your own then you cannot claim a labor charge for the installation.
