How Can I Keep Mice Out Of My Dryer Vent?

Q: How can I keep mice out of my dryer vent?

A: Replace the dryer vent on the outside of your house with a two-part dryer vent seal. The plastic vent seal costs roughly $15 and can easily be installed with a screwdriver and a little latex caulk. First, remove the old vent, apply caulk, and fasten the elbow of the new vent with screws so it’s directed upward. Then, attach the floating cup that covers the vent body, protecting it from rain and keeping out rodents. Clean out the lint every three months.
