Clean Oil Stains from the Driveway

Q: I have some ugly oil stains on the driveway from the car. Can you give me some tips on how to remove them?

A: Try using TSP, or trisodium phosphate, which is available at most hardware stores in white powder form. It’s a cleaning agent, stain remover and degreaser, commonly used to prepare surfaces for painting. Make a paste from the TSP and water, apply it to the stain and let it sit for a while. The TSP usually has the effect of drawing the oil out of the concrete.
