Tando Composites Teams Up with Alside For Paradise Builders Siding Project
Tando Composites’ TandoStone, the number one brand of composite stone, recently teamed up with Alside to provide a solution for an Amarillo builder.
Justin Lane, Co-owner and Sales Manager at Paradise Builders, said his team needed a budget-friendly way to get a realistic stone look for their knee wall to complement Alside’s Ascend siding.
Based in Amarillo, Paradise Builders has covered the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle as well as Eastern New Mexico since 1984. In a recent job, Lane explained that it was quoted without a skilled mason, but then found the expense of painted concrete was both prohibitive and labor-intensive.
“We asked the Alside team about TandoStone, which we had used about four years ago. Working with their branch in Lubbock, they helped us bring it on-site in time to meet our budget and installation schedule,” he said.
Lane said they had used TandoStone’s Glacier Bay light gray color in a stacked stone look on a previous job and it turned out to be the perfect solution so he knew it would work well for this application. “We needed a light palette to match the Ascend siding and the customer wanted a knee wall that wouldn’t break the bank,” he said.
According to Colton Conner, who leads the tier one crew of the three Paradise crews, “We installed TandoStone just like typical siding – with starter strip and lock-in panels that are nailed in.” He said it was easy to install and allowed Paradise to keep to their timeline.
“This was an incredible team effort by Alside and Tando Composites,” said Lane. “Not having to bring in two different trades saved us on cost and timing. The homeowner was beyond thrilled and really liked the Glacier Bay color. They had wanted to sell, but looking at the cost of a new home, they chose to renovate the exterior. Now, it looks like an entirely new house.”
Alside is in the process of opening two TandoStone stocking branches in Texas (Arlington, TX, and Austin, TX) to support large builders throughout the state. Visit www.tandocomposites.com to learn more about TandoStone.
