How to Remove a Stripped Screw

Q: Hi, I’m 12 years old and I need to get a stripped screw out of my electric guitar. The needle-nose pliers won’t grip it tight enough. HELP! What do I do?

A: If needle nose pliers won’t work, you might try using super glue or an epoxy (like JB weld) and an allen key. Just be very careful not to glue the screw in place, or you’ll just make the situation worse. As another option, most good hardware and automotive stores will sell drill bits designed just for this purpose, like the Grab-It screw-removal bit from Alden, www.aldn.com.
