Track Lighting

Q: Does track lighting require multiple electrical wires for all the individual lights?

A:Track lighting requires only the standard wiring necessary to power a single light fixture. Once the mounting plate and track are installed on the ceiling, the two copper tabs of the plate’s “live-end connector” snap into alignment with the two copper bars inside the track, which supply the electrical current to the individual lights. The track lights, which have dual contact points, twist into place the same way as the live-end
connector. This allows you to install multiple lights and reposition them along the track to direct the light right where your want it.
