Wolverine Thunderhead Work Boot Provides Greater Performance

Thunderhead Boot

The Thunderhead work boot combines style and superior comfort for a boot you won’t want to take off, even when the job is done. This boot contains a CarbonMAX toe-cap that is lighter and thinner for a better fit and EPX technology that conserves and returns energy to provide all-day comfort.

Rockford, Mich. (March 17, 2016) – Wolverine, the Michigan-based maker of authentic work, outdoor and heritage footwear and apparel, has launched the Thunderhead work boot, now available on wolverine.com.

The Thunderhead provides style that works on and off the job and is fused with ultimate comfort and performance; its CarbonMAX toe-cap is 50% lighter in weight than a standard steel-toe cap and thinner for a better fit while meeting ASTM standards. The multi-layer construction of EPX technology conserves and returns energy with a stabilizing and cushioning midsole and a low density EVA foam footbed.

Wolverine’s EPX technology incorporates an energy return system, with all footbed components working together seamlessly to provide ultimate performance:

  • High density base layer that distributes weight evenly and enhances stability.
  • Low density EVA foam to cushion from heel to toe.
  • Honeycomb heel that expands to absorb impact with each step.
  • Ribbed spine designed for flexibility.

The boot combines a breathable mesh and TPU upper with moisture managing mesh lining to keep water out and feet dry.  The new Wolverine Thunderhead boot is available now on Wolverine.com in all styles and will be available at retailers nationwide this month.
