Removing a Stripped Screw

Q: Do you have any tips for removing a stripped screw?

A: Start by placing a thick rubber band over the screw and then slowly use an oversize screwdriver while pressing down firmly. If that doesn’t work, hammer the screwdriver down into the screw head, cutting a new slot, then rotate the screwdriver and screw as one. You can also try gluing a driver bit into the screw head with epoxy, and then backing out the screw once it dries. Or, if you can grip the screw head with a pair of Vise Grips, you can lock the pliers onto it and rotate the grips to loosen the screw.
