Dry Ice Cleaning

Q: What is Dry Ice Cleaning?

A: Dry Ice Cleaning (aka Dry Ice Blasting) is a process in which particles of solid carbon dioxide (dry ice grains) are shot out of a spray nozzle at high velocity to clean a surface. As dry ice penetrates the contaminant, it rapidly returns to its gas form, separating the contaminant from the surface and leaving it clean, dry and undamaged. Dry Ice Cleaning can be used as a substitute for pressure-washing and/or sandblasting when surface integrity is important or trapped grit could cause problems. With no toxic chemicals, it’s safe for the environment and safe for equipment. The process requires special Dry Ice Blasting machines and is generally used for industrial applications to clean everything from production machinery and baking ovens to electrical components.
