Adverse Effects from Thinning Paint

Q. Does thinning paint have any adverse effects on the paint?

A. Most paint products are ready to go right out of the can with no thinning necessary. Some products can be reduced to some degree for application with a sprayer. Thinning the paint past the recommended levels can produce a solution that may not offer the same performance as its original formulation. Always use the recommended solvent and never reduce past the amounts recommended by the manufacturer.
